Kerrisdale Skating Club, a non-profit society, was incorporated in October 1949 and skating began when the arena opened on November 11th of that year. Over the years Kerrisdale Skating Club has provided recreation and fun for thousands of people in the Vancouver area.
CanSkate is the best learn-to-skate program in Canada. This program is for anyone, ages 4 and up, who wants to learn and improve their basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette, or speed skating, while promoting fitness and fun. Sessions are led by NCCP-certified coaches.
Skaters progress through six stages to develop their skating skills at their own rate. A nationally tested curriculum that focuses on balanced, control and agility while empowering skaters to hone essential skills, in a safe and friendly environment.

A bridge program to the StarSkate program for promising, enthusiastic children who have been recommended by our CanSkate Coordinator.
Future Stars are required to skate twice per week minimum.
